After having dreadful experiences with 3 different (expensive) bins that my husband and I have bought, we were looking again for another one. This one ticks all the boxes, fairly priced, it is compact given its 60L capacity, perfect neat shape and most importantly the bin bag (no matter how awkward the objects being put in are) just slides out when entirely packed full. No more wiggling the bag, wrestling the bag out, only for it to split! I'm not a bin fanatic, but this bin is a dream, exactly how all bins should be.
I really couldn't rate it higher.

I was a bit worried by the reviews about build quality and construction, but I had no problems. It's delivered flat packed with instructions on the box. It's a plastic base and top with 4 metal sides that slide into grooves on the other sides quite easily, with a screw top and bottom to secure them - that just lockes the sides together. Dead easy - 2 minutes. The end result in smart - good size, square (so space efficient and esy to get bags out of) and looks posher than the naff lastic grey swing top bin I had before. I'm ordering another now.

Hailo – no goodbye! This is probably the worst piece of s*** I have ever bought from Amazon. Poorly engineered, cheap construction etc. etc. If I saw this now offered on the 5 pound shop I would not buy it. It has gone straight out into the rubbish since I could not return it having knocked the hell out of it with a hammer trying to put it together. As least I have a free bin bag for my £39.52. Please avoid at all costs and Amazon should be ashamed on selling this in the first place. Absolutely disgusted.

The generally quality of the Assembled bin is low and does live up to the £45 I paid (If its now listed at ~half that I'd say its a half decent buy)

You expect to get what you pay for and this product does not deliver

The assembly is simple but requires you to slide the edges together; Mine came with the curled edges too far bent so they would not interlink.
I had to bend the edges out carefully with a flat screwdriver, I then had to bend them back once assembled so that the screws didn't push them apart.

This flat pack bin arrived today, very soon after ordering, well packaged and in good condition. It was very easy to put together (and I did it on my own - not sure how 2 people struggled in another review here). The sides slot together and then very strangely you put screws into the corners of the slotted joints, not a natural or obvious place to put a screw really and not overly successful because of the direction of the screw action for half of the screws, it forced the pieces of metal apart in 4 corners rather than drawing them in. I only discovered the instructions on the back of the box after I'd actually finished "the build", probably fortunate as I think they might have confused me!
However despite being made of quite thin tin like metal, when together it seems quite stable and is clearly larger than the bin it replaces as the bin bag disappeared into it, despite it taking up considerably less space.
Given the general quality of the materials I think the price I paid (@£45) is probably a bit expensive, however it's definitely not worth the full RRP of @£75.

As other reviewers have noted, it was a little tricky to assemble but nothing too difficult.

Initially, it was great. Looks good, in a teutonic fashion. Works fine, nice mechanism in the lid.

But, while the sides are made of metal, the corners of the base are made of plastic and soon cracked. The steel weight rods in the lids soon worked loose. Today, one of the plastic nubs in one of the swing lids snapped off so the lid no longer functions.

Perhaps six months is as long as anything can be expected to work in our family (5 kids) but this was not a cheap bin.

I think we'll go back to the £15 plastic ones for now. Cheaper to replace, even if they don't look so nice.

Agreed with the above review, it's a really good bin. My theory is that with tappered bins, when waste is added, it pushes down on lower waste, which causes that to compress against the side walls, making it more troublesome to pull out; that doesn't happen with this bin.

I found this bin difficult to put together. There are 8 screws, 1 for each corner. Due to its design, with 2 of the top and 2 of the bottom ones, the last turn of the screw kept causing the joint to pop out, resulting in the side panel flapping around (The other 4 screws when tightened pull the joint together). It's easy to clamp the top joint with pliers. One way I thought of to clamp the bottom joints in place while screwing them is to use a 30 cm ruler wedged in at an angle into the bottom of the bin. It's pretty robust once screwed together though. They could fix this flaw by using left handed, color coded screws which would pull those joints together.

Having read a fair number of mixed reviews, I decided to buy one black and one white bin. The manufacturer seems to have read the same critical reviews, because the assembly instructions had been moved from the rear of the packaging to a separate A4 sheet and were easy to follow. The 8 screws provided were easily screwed into the indicated places and what seemed flimsy became quite sturdy as soon as the base was in place. It was logical, but not clear in the instructions, which end of the sides should slot into the base (the rolled over end should be at the top). The wheels in the instructions were clearly indicated as an optional extra. As others have said, full bags slide out easily. Fitting new ones is also easy, just a bit fiddly to hide the overlap at the corners. The lids work really well. We wanted the bins to match in size, but didn't need the waste bin to be as big as the recycle bin, so we filled the bottom of the waste bin (with one of those cheap folding steps) and put a smaller bag in. Very pleased.
