I bought this book mainly because of the pattern on the front cover and also because I like the Kimono style of jumper and cardigan (provided the sleeves are not too wide). Not all the patterns contained in the book appeal to me but there are at least 3 to 4 that do and that is pretty good when buying a book of patterns. The book bought through Amazon was good value with free p. & p. The book is well presented with nice photographs and not hard to follow. Out of 10, I would give it 7.

I received the book today having pre-ordered. I too loved the design on the front cover - and frankly didn't expect there to be that many designs that I would love as much in the book. But that wasn't the case at all. The knits are of the highest design quality - and look like they've cost several hundred pounds. Can't wait for the yarn I've ordered to arrive and to get knitting and having scanned the instructions they look easy to do.

Just finished the shawl/cardi on front cover in lilac - it looks great. This is a lovely book that you can look at over and over. The patterns are really different and inspiring jumpers, cardigans and accessories. The yarns are not easy to obtain but are easy enough to to subsitute, I used Rowan kidsilk night and a wool rich DK rather than the named yarns. As the diagrams are very clear and easy to adapt its easy to swatch and match with different yarns. Overall its an excellent knitting book, designs that you want to make and food for the eyes when you are knitting.

I love this book. I'd describe myself as just beginning intermediate patterns. If like me you can manage basic shaping & yarn overs & etc. you will be very excited by this book & the patterns. Many are described as easy & do not look intimidating atal. Many of the yarns used are fine & look beautifully drapey.I purchased the book because I loved the cover design & I was not dissapointed. Whilst none of the designs would look out of place on London's catwalk, that is not to say that the floaty flair of the designs are unwearable day to day. There is nothing boring and run of the mill in this book!!. The designs are simply beautiful.

This book is worth owning just for the pictures. I never thought a book of knitting patterns could qualify as a 'coffee table book' but this definitely does so if you enjoy just looking and/or being inspired by ideas then this book is for you.

I think it's going to be difficult to get hold of the knitting yarns unless you use the internet and choose the exact colours specified....bit of a shame because there's nothing nicer than wool shopping and the touchy, feely part! Some of the Japanese yarns have metal in the mix - no good at airport security I think!

Most of the patterns recommend using circular needles but you could use straight needles instead - hooray! Why? Because I've just never got the hang of using circular needles - they always seem so fiddly. Note to self...must try harder!

The kimino style top on the front cover is beautiful and rated as 'easy'(which I agree with.)I think I'm going to try using alternative yarns and I have plenty of projects in the pipeline to keep me busy until I find what I'm looking for.

This books has some lovely designs which I can't wait to try.
My only criticism would be as a knitted in the UK some of the yarns are a bit difficult to find/ expensive but overall a good book.

I originally bought this book as a gift for my sister-in-law as I liked the look of the patterns I previewed and thought there was a good range of items. However, the yarns used to produce the garments were not readily available in the UK and would have involved using the internet for purchase and as I knew that the intended recipient would not do this I have kept it for my coffee table. It is a well presented book.
