View these live images from up to 60 metres away from the camera, ensuring you take the perfect photo at exactly the right time. Ideal for wildlife, sport, hazardous photography. If your DSLR lens is set in a close-up zoom, the built-in CMOS camera in the Inspire receiver is a seperate, convenient wide-angle LiveView for surveying the overall scene. as it allows you to monitor the scene prior to switching to zoomed-in DSLR LiveView to take the shot.

The built-in CMOS Camera on the receiver sends a LiveView of the camera scene to the LCD on the handheld transmitter.

The Inspire allows the saving of images taken. Then playback the pictures in the Inspire transmitter without havinmg to go back to the camera.

Multiple Remote Camera control

I bought this for use with a Nikon D300 so I could snap birds on the bird table remotely. I ordered the "Nikon" version. As supplied it came complete with batteries which was a nice touch. Operation wise it worked straight out of the box. It is easy to set up and use. A simple connction to the release socket on thee camera (cable supplied) and a video connection to the composite video out of the camera (lead not supplied) is all you need to do. On switch on the receiver found the transmitter within seconds. The in-built video gives a wide view so if you use on your camera with a telephoto lens (as I do) the live view from the camera will be very different from the in-built camera image. Quality wise the in-built camera is OK in good light. The transmitted image of live view is excellent, almost as good as on the camera its self. Range wise I had it working at 10 metres through two walls so very good. My only down side would be the construction which is very plastic, rather fragile annd mosst cerrtainly not the slightest bit water resistant hence 4 stars. However it does do what it sets out to. Note to all those who are buying a Nikon D800. It won't work with a D800 as the D800 has no composite analogue video output. If you want to connect to a D800 buy an HDMI to composite video converter such as as the Kaanan HDMI to composite/S-video converter.

I could not get this device to work with my Nikon D80 or my friend's D90 even with his help. We both studied the instructions and so it was not just me. The supplier insists there was nothing wrong with the Inspire and so I am perplexed as to why I couldn't get it to work. I can only guess that the instructions were inadequate.

I bought this device to photograph birds in my garden. These are some of the problems I came across:

1. Leaving the camera in Live View quickly drains the camera battery so a battery grip or some external source of power for the camera is needed in practice. I don't have a grip so I can't comment on how much extra time you would get.

2. Instead of Live View I tried using the built in camera but I found that I had difficulty seeing what I was trying to photograph since the lens is fairly wide angle and the resolution of the camera is low. The DSLR I was controlling had a 300mm lens on and was set up about 12 feet from the target birds so as not to spook them.

3. I found that the wireless connection was unreliable indoors if I did not have a line of sight through a window for example.

Problems 1 and 2 would obviously be solved with a beefier battery supply for the DSLR since Live View could be used.

I did get some good photographs using this device but I had to observe the birds through binoculars from a bedroom window in order to judge when to take a photograph!

On the plus side the unit is well made and easy to set up and with a better, higher resolution built-in camera could be really useful.
