Howard & Hamilton have written an indispensible revision aid for all aspects of clinical haematology. The text is well written, clear and easy to understand, complemented by lots of useful photos and diagrams. The book is set out in a two page per topic format, allowing ease of use especially when panicking before exams.
A good text to buy as both an introduction to, and revision aid for, the confusing and sometimes complex subject of haematology.

Great full coloured illustrated guide to basic lab haematology, with photos to illustrate various lab techniques, clinical features and equipment. The book is a couple of years old already now though and some of the photos are starting to show their age, but a great introduction to the subject - perfect for students learning it for the first time (or as a refresher!) or for scientists working in other disciplines that want a crash course in haematology!

These colour texts are really good for review. I purchased the Haematology text but the publishing date was in the early 2000's so that some of the information not really up to date i.e. especially for treatments of the leukemias. No matter, still a simple and good review of some of the basics. It is not meant to be a heavy duty hematology text. Color photos (or Colour) are excellent. Worth reading for medical and nursing students, and physicians who are not heme/oncology specialists. Perhaps spend the extra money to get a version that is up to date
