The Haden coffee maker is designed to make up to 10 cups of filter coffee at a time. For the ultimate in convenience it also has a hotplate that keeps the contents hot, should you decided to have your coffee a little later. The pause and pour function is also extremely useful as it means you can remove the carafe at any time while it is filling up. The coffee will automatically stop pouring, resuming only when you place the carafe back on the hotplate. For your convenience a water level indicator is located on the side of the machine for precise filling.

I bought one of these from Amazon several months ago and use it five days a week to make my morning jug of coffee. It is a basic device that reliably makes good filter coffee; certainly not the most durable piece of equipment I've ever owned but good quality for the price and despite being rather ham-fisted I have not yet managed to break any part of it.
I like the easily visible water level, the lack of unnecessary features (the only control is the on/off switch) and a lovely little plastic scoop that came in the box which means that I always use the same amount of coffee. I use a dark roast and the flavour is rich without being bitter partly because the water entering the filter is not quite at boiling point and partly because the hot plate is not hot enough to simmer the coffee when it is left standing even for an hour or so.
I can't remember whether or not there was a reusable filter in the box but if there was then I would have thrown it away as soon as I unpacked it. I use standard 1x4 filter papers and have found that if I fold over the two joined edges then the paper fits perfectly.

This is a no nonsense coffee machine that does, in fact, make very good coffee. It is cheap, which is why I bought it. There are much better coffee machines out there, but for a no-frills machine, and most importantly -- GOOD COFFEE, this machine does the job. It does not burn or overheat the jug, it is quiet, fast, not too steamy, comes with a serving spoon and a reusable filter, and looks good. However, pouring water into the machine can be tricky if the machine is in a corner of the worktop, like mine, and I sometime spill water down the back. Poor design. And the little water level indicator bob does not seem to work on my machine. It never moves up or down, no matter how much water goes in! This may just be a unique fault though. But I know how much water I need for my morning coffee, so the bob is not essential. I like this little coffee machine, but the water spilling can be an irritation sometimes! If you are looking for a cheap machine, I recommend this little chap.

Drink coffee? Want a machine that does what it says on the box? This is it. Ready to go out of the box. Run it through twice without coffee to get rid of any 'newness' taste and then it goes like a trooper! All the bits you need to clean are robust and easy to get to. Its price belies its simplicity!

cheap and cheerful
