Product Description

Comedy horror in which seven college students, Emily (Danica McKellar), Johnny (Jay Kenneth Johnson), Maddy (Adrienne Frantz), Ricky (Justin Chon), 'Q' (Won-G), Sylvia (Gabrielle Richens) and Tim (Travis Schuldt), travel to a private island to study wildlife. The island is owned by the reclusive Vincent King (Sean Kanan) and his wife, Mary Shelley (Juliet Landau). It isn't long before a horror-movie inspired killer begins murdering the students one by one.

1.0 out of 5 stars just awful. 26 Jan 2012
Format:DVD
I don't usually write reviews but think I might start, to help people out when choosing which films to buy. I am a huge horror film fan and have seen absolutely hundreds of horror films, all different types. So, as you would expect, I have seen a lot of good and a lot of bad. This one most definitely fell into the latter category. I have only ever stopped watching one horror film because it was so bad (Curfew), as I usually see them through to see if they have a good ending. I have never been so close to turning this one off though. It really was absolutely appalling. The actors were hardly De Niro, however it wasn't even necessarily the acting that made it so bad. (This doesn't mean that the acting was good by any means though). It was just... everything. I literally don't have one good thing to say about this film. I am always up for a comedy horror that doesn't take itself too seriously and gives you a laugh along the way but this didn't even fall into that category. The script and direction were just awful. Also, I hated the way it was filmed. It kept changing between camera and their hand held camera. Sometimes this is effective and really works, but in this case it just really didn't. The only thing I'd say is that the storyline COULD be a good idea and work quite well if done well with a good script and team. I would love to hear more thoughts on this film. It would be interesting to see what others thought. Overall I would give 'Hack' 1*, which in my opinion, is being very generous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hack is cool 4 Jan 2008
By Cal
Format:DVD
The movie makes fun of horror flics and is a blast. Tons of movie references and even casting horror actors like Hodder, Forsythe, Young, Landau, Burton, Munro... Anyone who likes horror movies will get a kick out of Hack. Should have gotten a theatrical release, compared to what's in the theaters. Well worth renting!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good movie 26 Mar 2011
Format:DVD
I've just finished watching Hack and I really enjoyed it. It doesn't take itself seriously and goes of the cliche of horror movies, adding in lines like "this looks like a scene from a cheesy horror movie" and such.

The only problem I have with this movie is that around halfway through when they are outside there seems to be some audio problems and the voices sound muffled, so that alone makes it lose one star.
