5.0 out of 5 stars Great plot, great book. A must for all crime fiction fans!, 5 Jan 2005
This review is from: The Habit (Paperback)
Richard Armour's first book is a very good one. The plot is very cleverly put together and I really enjoyed the pace that the short chapters gave the book.
It's an insight into the world of stockbroking and the City and the way men behave in that dog eat dog world and I loved the way the author exposes the perpetrator before the end, very clever.
The narrative is great, with lots of banter between the 2 main characters.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Habit and look forward to Richard Armour's next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars crime in the city, 30 Nov 2002

As a fan of crime thrillers, I thoroughly enjoyed The Habit. There is a realism to the city boys lives and to the london that the author describes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping, 12 Aug 2010

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Habit (Paperback)
The Habit is a gripping read. The first chapter is very gritty and both makes you want to read more and inwardly cringe at the same time. Once you get into the story the relationship between all of the characters and the way the author has provided such an insight into their lives, really builds a sense of empathy with them. That empathy makes the build up to the final chapters even more thrilling. The short chapters make the book a pleasure to read and it has given me a glance into a world I knew nothing about.

My favourite authors include Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, Tess Gerritson, Jeffrey Deaver, P.J. Tracey and Robert Goddard - if you like any of these authors you will thoroughly enjoy this book.
