What a great shame. Not a re-engineered reissue with extra trackes, but a re-recorded version of Hup that adds absolutely nothing to the original and in fact detracts from it. I'm sure rerecording this fulfills some contractual obligation or more likley fills the coffers, with the ( far superior ) original musicians losing out.
As with many bands, they either bow out gracefully, soldier on and try to innovate, or in this case, revisit past glories and pretty much ruin them. The bittersweet irony of them splitting up in 1994 was that they made the decion to go out on a high note. Who would have thought the Wonderstuff would become the kind of band they despised in their pomp?
Stick to the original.

A previous reviewer was correct - It's sad to hear another drummer try to play Gilksy's parts.....but worst of all is the bass player on Goodnight Though. Can no one match the rhythm that Rob Jones originally had? :-(
Compare it to the original and this version is all over the place. I'm sorry and saddened to say that I can play it better.

The fiddle parts just don't flow as easily as Martin Bell's did.

Good points though - Can't Shape Up is just like the original should have been.....

This is so disappointing, what was one of my seminal albums growing up has been butchered.Words can't describe what they have done to this epic album!

From the missing samples at the beginning of 30 years in the bathroom to the awful bass on goodnight now there is not one track that hasn't been totally destroyed.

why? why? why? it just doesn't make any sense. Do your self a favour and buy the original recording instead,
