Old remote suddenly stopped working- nothing would get it going again- changing batteries, fully discharging power by pressing standby button without batteries in etc. Very frustrating using buttons on front panel of Humax receiver to change chanel etc. and no facility to watch recorded programmes without remote !
So ordered new one Tuesday night on free delivery ( I'm a tight old git ) expecting to wait till weekend to receive it. Shipped Wednesday received Thursday - Excellent service.
Minimal packaging but received in good condition and seems ?? to be a liittle quicker at delivering commands to receiver.

This is a genuine like for like replacement for the remote for a Humax PVR. I agree with others that is appears faster than the original and, again like others, is a necessary replacement as the OK button seems to fail after a while. However, the main purpose of my review is to refer to the 3 or 4 digit code business. My original remote required a four digit code and these are what are listed in the appendix to the manual. This one requires only 3 digits. The answer lies in downloading the correct codes and the procedure is: Logo onto the humax site (as you probably know Amazon do not allow links in reviews- so type humax then digital then dot then com!). Hover over support then select rcu code list. Although this remote is an RM-F01, you need to click on the RM-E06 as this is the one that requires the 3 digits codes (to confirm this look under the batteries in the remote and you will see the code MDB1.3). That should sort you out.

Over a period of time my original remote controller stopped working on commonly used buttons, especially the OK button. I purchased one of these remote controllers and indeed it did have minimal packaging and next day delivery. The unit worked okay controlling the satellite receiver but when I came to programme in the 4 digit code required to operate the tv and video recorder, the new unit only had a 3 digit code system, therefore I was unable to use this universal controller on any other equipment. I also noted on removing the battery there was a code on my original unit ADB1.0. The new unit had a code MDB1.3 - a 3 code system. So if you are purchasing a new controller used on several equipments, ensure you get a code system similar to your original.

Lousy remote, excellent PVR
The Humax PVR/HDR is a great product but the remote is the worst I have used in over a decade. Ergonomically it is dire, which is unacceptable in a product that costs this much. Read more
