Alexis Goldstein is a teacher and co-organizer of Girl Develop it, a group that conducts low-cost programming classes for woman, and a very proud member of the NYC Resistor hackerspace in Brooklyn, New York.

This book gave me the information I needed to get an HTML5 website up and running and displaying properly in different web browsers in a fairly short space of time. You do need to be familiar with HTML and CSS already, though.

If you are looking to keep your websites up to date with the next generation html, then this is the book for you. It's not really for the newbie into web development, anybody with any background in html will find this instructive and easy to follow.
