5.0 out of 5 stars no jargon at all - a new way of learning code 2 Feb 2012
By yellow
Format:Paperback
How has this book managed to teach pure code - pure technical language - without any of the jargon? This book really could take you from nothing to expert in HTML & CSS. Also really useful for pros who need to get up to speed on HTML5 & CSS3 integration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly excellent 22 Oct 2012
By Tony Jones VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
As someone who once understood HTML I found the start of this book somewhat slow and almost thought it a triumph of design over substance; how wrong I was! Once I moved onto CSC (which I bought the book for) I realised that the gentle introduction had served as the basis for a thorough explanation of concepts that I had never understood before.

An excellent (and attractive) book which really serves as a solid introduction for anyone that cares about look and feel of their website

I am a professional software developer who has not done any web development for a couple of years and needed a book that would ease me back into it. This book takes you all the way through HTML and CSS, even covering HTML5 and CSS3. I can't judge what it would be like for a complete beginner but for my needs it was fine. The layout and design is very graphic and there are plenty of real world examples along the way. I particularly liked that there were various tips scattered throughout the book on how to overcome common problems, be compatible with older web browsers, get a better design for your web pages etc.

I don't have anything bad to say about this book!
