I can't abide the useless earphones that come with HTC phones as standard and it's a cheek that the cable with the buttons and microphone are hardwired to them, forcing you to purchase another cable. However, to offer an adapter that has less functionality (why no track-skip controls like the standard cable?) and then to gouge your customers for the privilege is a liberty that one usually thinks of as the preserve of a certain fruit-branded competitor! The product is overpriced by a factor of at least 4. To put a tin lid on things, HTC enclose yet another crappy pair of earphones - if I was happy with the stock-issue ones why would I be ordering this item? Fail, fail, fail!!!
The actual quality of the cable is good but it is too chunky if anything and is therefore not really flexible enough but the length is about right for me. The single button allows you to pause and restart music and to answer calls as well as (double click) dial the last outgoing number (useless and too easy to activate). And HTC still haven't sorted out the pause function, it takes an age for the music to actually start and stop (on a Desire S).
Thanks to Amazon the item arrived quickly, well packaged and in good order. Nul points for HTC!
