Product Description
HQ Optical TOSlink 3 Port Switch designed to expand the number of optical devices that can be connected to an amplifier. This optical switch has three TOSlink ports for connecting three devices to one common input/output. The switch is finished in silver with a blue knob to switch the connections, an indicator shows which TOSlink has been selected.
Can be used with for example DVD, PS2, XBOX etc.

My surround sound system only has 1 optical input so this is perfect for what I needed. I have my Sky+ box and PS3 plugged into this and it works perfectly. I have tested putting Dolby Digital and DTS through this and it transfers them perfectly, my surround system confirmed it was receiving DD or DTS from Sky+/ PS3.
I couldn't work out how to turn the selector to start with, you just have to push the end it on the switch so you can turn it :-)

this item works fine for me although it is much larger than you'd expect from the photo. its about the 6" (150mm) across. ive got it connected to my ps3 skyHD through to my 5.1 sound system. a little tip, inside this unit there is just a bit of optical cable in a curve thats why the inputs are in a semi circle arrangement. looking at the photo the input/output (common) is on the left. therefore you want to use the opposite connections the right first, working back to left with the equipment you use less frequently. that way you are putting the least amount of bend in the cable inside and improving the service life of the switch.
finally the switch has a button either side that you squeeze with your thumb and forefinger when you switch between connections (cant see it on photo but its obvious when you see it). this retracts the cable inside alowing you to move to next position. i would'nt be suprised if some people dont do this and snap the end off inside and then complain thats it doesnt work

I bought this to connect my sky+ box and xbox 360 to my home cinema which only has 1 optical input. it works fine and is a cheap and easy solution.

This is a replacement of my last one, only diff being the twisty knob is blue. Worked fine for 2 years then one channel the one I used for HDMI sky just stopped working. Read more

Much bigger than I thought!
I haven't tested it yet as I need to plug in my Xbox and bluray player into my surround sound. This is the only one available and is built quite poorly. Read more

Useless...Don't bother
Don't bother with this product. It just didn't work. Tried numerous different cables to ensure it wasn't a problem with any of the connectors. This product simply doesn't work.

Great value optical cable link.

The light that comes out of this thing, isn't as bright as the light going in. Depending on your amp, that'll determine whether it works or not. Read more
