The main reason I bought this all-in-one printer, was mainly for the wireless capability.I didn't really need the photo/scanning side as i already have those facilties which work well.I just needed a wireless printer,as the 'wireless' one i had has refused to work wirelessly ever since i decided to update the driver.(after contacting Lexmark, who were excellent, and trying various 'work-arounds'& remedies, nothing worked except to prove the fault is on my laptop, rather than the printer.Although the printer worked perfectly plugged in, this defeated the object, but i was resigned to this until the printer finally developed printing faults recently,so started looking for a new one, and found this little gem!The price attracted me,as it was only a few pounds more than the Lexmark had been, with more capabilities(the lexmark was just a basic printer).
With trepidation i followed the simple instructions on installing it,and it was up and running in minutes.Connected seamlessly with my router, and works perfectly. The supplied cd installs the driver and a easy-to-follow 'solution centre'which includes everything you could need to know, and a button to click to check for updates(including driver)altho it does this automatically. There is also a link to the hp 'shop' for supplies, and i found their prices for replacement ink cartridges cheaper than other suppliers.
When printing photos,or scanning/copying,this can be done via the software,or using the control panel(with lcd screen)on the printer.
All in all, I am totally pleased with this machine. As my computer is a laptop,it is so much more convenient than having to go and connect when i want to print.Anyone who needs feedback on the quality/efficiency of the scanning/photo-printing aspects will have to read further reviews. So far i've only tried the photo-printing once and the result looked fine to me, but i'm no expert on those.
