Have had this laptop for around 3 weeks now. I purchased it mainly because of the v good graphics card the ATI radeon 4650. Nowadays its hard to get a laptop with a decent graphics card for under a grand. Anyway, I'll start with the good points. The mouse and keyboard are very good, good responsive mouse and keys are well designed. This screen is pretty good although in bright days glare can be a problem. The CPU and hardisk are not the best out there but are still pretty good for most software and games. The graphics card is the star of the show the ATI radeon 4650 with 1 gb memory, its very very good. Have played bioshock and it automatically selected the highest settings for everything and ran butter smooth. Know from other people that it runs games like crysis also very well. This is very impressive as these games require powerful machines. With 4 gb ram you can run multiple apps at once without any slow down so this is good again. The matching mouse and case is also a pleasant bonus and the webcam is also handy. So you think why have i only given it 4 stars, well a few gripes. Vista is very sluggish but the good news is that you can upgrade to windows 7 through the HP website for around £21 which is highly recommended. The battery is pretty rubbish, I mean if your just using the Internet you'll get an hour and a half MAX and thats on power save mode. This is probably due to the combination of the AMD processor (not as energy effecient as the INTEL) and the ATI graphics card which are quite power intensive. If your planning on buying a laptop to take out and use I would not recommend it, but if you dont mind running it with charger in or having to charge it often its a great laptop. Overall its great value for money, and if you're after a laptop that can run the latest games with ease then this is the laptop for you, but if you expect a long battery life you're going to be disappointed

Bought this laptop as I wanted a laptop with a better build quality than my old laptop...

-Excellent build quality (hp definately have an eye for detail!)
-Nice extras-mouse, case
-Looks great
-I like the free photo editing software, desktop editing software, etc
-Plays computer games really well and does not overheat even after many hours of games/ demanding software (this was a major problem with my previous laptop)
-easy to use
-The remote I thought initially would be useless but I now use it all the time is great for listening to music, movies when you are busy doing something else
-Like the little details, volume control, mouse scroller
-Keyboard is a nice size, my typing has never been so quick. Also has a proper num pad (not a function button one) which is rare for a laptop, which I have found useful when using it for work.

-Mainly problems with vista 64 -lots of bugs, administration problems, crashes -(I have another computer with vista 32 bit so this is not just whinging about vista in general-the 64bit in my opinion has many, many more problems)-hopefully with the free upgrade to the new windows system, this should get better...
-LOTS of pointless programs preloaded onto the computer-if you want your computer to be useful and load quickly you will prob need to spend some time removing this....
-Some glitches when playing computer games, (plays in a smaller window, occasional crashes etc) which I have been unable to fix, have been told this may be problems with incompatability with the graphics card, I imagine if you are serious about your games you may want to go with a Nvidia card instead.

HP has issued an excellent laptop. After upgrading to Windows 7 it works perfectly.
AMD generates more heat then Intel but it's not an issue really.
