I have the 16gb version of this stick & now it's available for a great price I've just got the 32gb version.
It's the size (or lack of it) that makes this such a convenient buy. It's perfect for my USB equipped CD/radio in the car.
I've tried using other flash sticks of the more usual size but they stick out too far & are easily brushed against (which I find with my Kenwood CD/radio player causes the unit to stop & reread the USB stick, it's annoying).
This stick sticks out of the unit by about 3cm & can be completely forgotten about. Perfect.

It's USB 2.0 standard & has the usual read and write speeds you'd expect, it's not exceptionally fast but at this price for this size who cares, it'll get filled up once & allow for a huge music collection on the move.
Nice.

I did lots of speed tests and this beauty was reaching an amazing 35MB per second read speed which is a weird one since it's only USB2!

It's write speeds are not as fast though, 11MB was it's best which is fine for copying over music and video.

As for small files such as creating office documents, using a portable web browser, forget it, this things write speeds for small files is painfully slow.

This has been designed for media in mind and that's what it should be used for.

I got mine for £24 including delivery so i've noticed that price has gone up to £35 as of this review, however considering its size and performance for media related uses, even at £35 this little beauty is a bargain!

For people that are interested in obtaining a 32GB memory stick for productivity purposes such as mobile programs and web browser, look no further than the Duracell Capless 32GB.

Duracell Capless 32GB USB Memory Drive

It's not as small as the HP v165 but it's fast, made of durable rubber and cheap as chips at its current asking price of £16.97!

Windows 7:

Great piece of kit. Good quality and looks and feels solid despite the plastic body. The transfer speeds seem to be good enough though I dont have numbers to offer. However, there is one issue with this pen drive. The cap is very loose and its easy to lose it. I have however, managed to circumvent the problem by pouring a few drops of cyanoacrylate glue on the insides of the cap and after leaving it to dry it forms a coating thereby making the cap tight enough.
Very small, very handy and very cool.

I bought this to take music to the usb port of the car radio. It is ideal, small, no flashing light and it carries all the kids stories and music and more music than I remember buying in my life and it is about half full....I've got the MP3 player back from the car.

Just what I wanted to store my music files. Not the fastest when copying files in bulk so priming it with over 32GB of files did take some time but I expected that. In operation with my player it seems fine and I haven't experienced and disappearing files to date, but it's still early days. No delivery issues and to me it represented good value.

Short review:

I chose this USB stick because it's very small, has no flashing lights and carries a relatively huge capacity. Unfortunately, it didn't last more than a couple of months when I used it as a boot drive for my server - the internal electronics failed completely.

Longer review:

I wanted to use this in my HP Microserver as a USB boot drive, so that I could have maximum hard drive storage capacity. It worked as expected at the start, being successfully formatted under Ubuntu Linux and acting as a boot drive (no swap file). I was concerned about wear, but as a boot drive, it generally wouldn't be accessed apart from at boot or to launch media management software (Plex) which generally runs a service. I also took steps to minimise wear by installing Linux without swap and creating my media library and transcoding scratch drive on a real hard drive in my RAID array.

It worked well for a while - but an order of magnitude slower than a hard drive. However, one day my server stopped providing service and, on reboot, wouldn't respond to ping.

Unfortunately, the worst had happened: somehow the USB boot drive had been corrupted, taking details of my RAID array with it as well as my settings for Plex media manager.

I couldn't even access data when I plugged the USB drive into another computer - it shows up as a "USB Composite Device" under Mac OS X provided by Integrated Technology Express, Inc. but I don't even get a prompt to initialise the drive. This suggests to me a microcontroller failure.

On the plus side, it is very small which lowers the risk of damage to a laptop or car USB socket by knocking the stick. On the minus side, ours has a problem connecting. Not bad enough to return, but annoying. It has a problem connecting to both our desktop computer and our car. It requires some moving about and sometimes plugging in a few times before it is recognised. Once recognised, it is fine. There are plenty of others out there and I have bought some different ones (Kensington) since.
