The print quality from my HP L7680 had been getting steadily worse - in particular there were several white bands across each page. Having carried out the diagnostics in the printer's help package, (and all the procedures such as aligning and cleaning the printheads, and calibrating the linefeed, to no avail) it seemed that replacing the print heads would rectify the problems. Indeed, it was the only solution offered. So I invested in two new printheads (one black and yellow, the other cyan and magenta), thinking that it was worth trying to extend the working life of an expensive printer which was barely three years old (a disappointingly short working life in my opinion - my previous HP unit worked wonderfully well for more than eleven years). The result - £85 wasted, even at Amazon prices (the RRP is seemingly about £150)! If anything there are now more white bands across the printed page than before! Replacing the printheads is certainly not the magic solution that HP's help package leads you to expect.
