4.0 out of 5 stars Very impressive printer 5 Nov 2008
Verified Purchase
Having used a Black and White Laser at home for years I decided to get a colour machine to save the cost and bother of running ink jets.

This particular printer is excellent and suits me very well. It arrived well packed and was in working order. It was easy to set up and install. It produces very high quality black and white or colour pictures very fast and without fuss. You do have to be careful to specify any special paper that you may be using (eg photo or card) When I first tried photo paper, I forgot to do this, and picture was a total mess that jammed the machine! (Easy to unjam!) It also came with a small pack of different papers to show off its capabilities.

It is network enabled so I have connected mine to my home network so it can be used by anyone in the house without having to switch on a computer. The networking software was easy (though seemed to take ages) to install. Otherwise you can just plug it into a computer using a USB connector.

A couple of niggles The networking software does seem to have caused an increase in the time it takes my computer to recover from standby. Also the IEC mains lead supplied has a continental plug, which was supplied with an adaptor to UK 3 pin that did not fit the continental plug!

Overall I am well pleased that I now have a good quality Black White and colour printer that just works when I want to print something!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great low cost colour network printer 21 July 2009
I've owned this printer for 6 months now and I'm really impressed. The printer worked fine straight out of the box installed and working within 10 minutes. I find the quality excellent, photo's look fine on regular paper.

I run this printer on my home network and print from both XP and vista machines with no compatibility problems. The printer is neat and tidy and fits nicely into my small home office.

One downside to this printer (like all colour laserjets) is the cost of replacement toner, I recommend you check before you buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars HP Laser Jwt CP1515N 8 Oct 2009
I bought this as a result of needing a more compact colour laser printer in a confined desk space. This printer has been in use for over a year now !

I am a fan of HP Products in general and this is no exception (however as eluded to earlier their software could do with a general overhauil , it can be a bit clunky and take up quite a bit of space on the hard drive). The print quality is excellent in black and white as well as colour , its very good with HP Laser Photo Matte paper.

You must ensure that you have the correct settings in the printer settings otherwise you will get some quality issues . this is solely due to the fact that laser's use high print temps. for the ink transfer process.( I think this applies to ALL laser printers)

The actual HP Solution Centre is quite impressive and pretty accurate at ink estimations.Shop around for the ink toner prices they can be either quite expensive or reasombale we are talking between GBP 45 to GBP 75 in some cases for a b&w toner cartridge. Buy in a quad pack for the cheapest prices.

The reason why this did not get 5 stars is the small LCD Panel , is is extremely hard to reas from sone angles.

Overall a well built excellent printer with good print results.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for home printing 14 Aug 2009
Verified Purchase
I have had this printer for nearly a year. It's worked fautlessly. I didn't install the packaged software just the drivers. No problem here wth the PC slowing down. You don't need the software.

It sits on my network, no problem. Other niggles are the on/off switch, right at the back and where i have located my printer not that easy to get to.

I would have given it 5 * but the price of cartridges worries me. It's nearly better to buy a new printer when the cartridges run out. How green is that? What a waste.
I think I will look at remanufactured cartridges, but they are still expensive.

1.0 out of 5 stars DOA and HP support quality mixed 5 Oct 2008
By MrZipf
When first plugged into the wall the printer made an awful wailing sound that continued for several minutes. Subsequent attempts to print produced sheets of paper covered in unfixed toner. HP support recognized the problem immediately - a broken blade inside the toner cartridge - and the support rep said this was a common failing. Because of this I returned the printer for a refund rather than risk this problem each time the toner cartridge needs replacing.

HP support were good on the first call, but the return procedure was unbelievably annoying. I had to repeatedly email and fax the receipt. These docs were marked for the attention of a specific person, but they never seemed to get them. HP Printer Support does not respond to their email at all, but do send automatic responses when the case is marked as closed in their system. The agent repeatedly left phone messages with no way to return the call.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked out in the end 8 Feb 2010
Having read the reviews for this printer I decided to purchase one for myself. The first one I received had a fault is as much as it kept coming up with an error message saying there was a "paper jam in tray 2" there was no paper jam, then when I press "OK" it would go into an initialization sequence which would last about 30 seconds before then printing. Unable to sort the problem I contacted Amazon on the web to return it for a replacement and give Amazon their due, this was on Sunday, I booked a pick-up for Monday and it was picked up no problems with the replacement being delivered first class on the Tuesday! That's service! How's the replacement printer doing? Just great! I love it! The output is fast and top quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent printer
It was very easy to set up. It is quick to initialise. Only downside is that it seems not to have a straight through paper feed for card. Very satisfied.
