The third party Microsoft compatible receiver works /almost/ as expected, it does not ship with drivers for X64 Versions of Windows 7. The driver disk included is fairly comprehensive and will get you up and running in no time if you don't use a 64bit edition of Windows 7, if however you do then you will need to install the official Microsoft Wireless Receiver drivers manually.
The product is worth the money paid for it at the time of purchase, it cos £7.99 at the time of purchase and was certainly worth the small amount of playing around to get it to work.
