Same as other people have said this wire doesnt work, you need an actual converter, i stupidly ordered one then did a bit more digging around about it. Just a con, someones soldered some wires together basically and thats it, digital does not equal analogue. :( Amazon shouldnt be allowing this, i might start trying to sell air guitars, or tartan paint.

I bought this in the hope I could use my VGA monitor with my PS3 but I couldn't get a signal.
I did the standard "Hold power button on the PS3 for 5 seconds" but still nothing so far.
I have a DELL E176FP monitor. It works fine since it has a PC connected to it.
I have read since I may need a Convertor called HD Fury (See comment from Manuel Gomes below)
Please be aware of this if you are thinking of buying the cable to PS3 connect to a Monitor.
The cable may do the job for connecting other HD products to VGA but it's no go for the PS3.

Why are people buying this thing.
You cannot convert digital to analogue without some kind of interface box, this cable is completely worthless.
I am more amazed that someone has given this thing 4 stars whilst stating it doesn't work.
Please don't award a worthless item four stars just because it was delivered quickly!

dont buy this product
To take signal from vga to hdmi you will need to buy a converter with one vga to vga lead and one hdmi to hdmi lead.VGA is analogue hdmi is digital. Read more

dont buy
due to the different signals of vga (analogue) and hdmi (digital) this lead will never work! so do not purchase as i am now regretting having done so myself
