wonderful usb wireless adapter. 2 April 2013

well worth the 7 or 8 dollars for the convenience of wireless for your desktop. its just as advertised 300 mega bites per second, fits in a usb slot on a desktop or a laptop, comes with mini disk with drivers on them, 5 different drivers on the disk, took about 30 minutes to find the right driver, so don't get discouraged. i found that for windows xp, i had to install 2 of the 5 drivers before it would work correctly, range is pretty good also, however i find that the further away your desktop is from your wireless router, the more of a chance for a "hiccup" if your gaming hard, for instance on world of warcraft, or world of tanks, every now and then there will be a 2 second pause where the screen freezes while the adapter "catches" up with the game. i have my desktop sitting about 6 feet away from my router, any further than that, you increase the chance of getting a "hiccup"......over all, wonderful piece of equipment, and well worth the few bucks for wireless freedom. hope this review helps anyone thinking about buying one.

Actually, I'm on linux(debian). I didn't even need drivers in the cd. I only had to install the package "wireless-tools" and it automatically worked.

Bought this because laptop wireless card seemed weak 18 Feb. 2014

I bought this because my laptop wireless card is weak and I thought this would bring faster speed. It doesn't. it is the exact same speed. It works as a wireless adapter, but it is not as fast as I thought. I mean, its ten dollars, I dont know why I expected more than that!
So-So 20 July 2013

I am able to connect to the internet...usually. Randomly the adapter will just stop working and I have to go through the Network and Sharing Center to run a troubleshoot at which time the computer has to reset the adapter. This can happen often sometimes and is very annoying. Other times I can go hours without any issue. It may be a driver error, but the site I found for the product offers no driver upgrades.

I have windows xp on a gateway desktop. I bought this so I could connect to our wifi. I installed it and could not connect. I'm thinking its the desktop though and not the device. Over all shipping was good and everything was there.
