Didn't receive the standard version but got the modified Sapphire with the boosted cooling fan so a real added bonus and one I certainly didn't expect.
Though this did cause a few issues when fitting due to space, but with a little modifying of the CPU cooling case (Dell Dimension) it slipped in with ease. Everything you could possibly want for gaming, frame rate in World of Warcraft is now a constant 40fps with all settings at max, with my old card it was around 10fps.
The card requires it's own power (does not get it from the mother board like the older graphic cards) so you'll need a 6-pin connection, thankfully with the retail version you get a few adaptors for this purpose.
Another great bonus with this card is that if in the future you want even more improved performance then you can run two of these graphic cards (mother board and CPU permitting) using ATI's CrossFireX, double the power, half the price.
Also it's geared up for HD and Blueray so with a Blueray CD player fitted you can play to your HD television, impressive stuff.
Just remember to ensure your existing PSU (power supply unit) is powerful enough, minimum requirement is 450W but to ensure everything runs smoothly I would personally suggest getting a minimum of 550W. The one I bought was a Antec Basiq Power 550W' as standard it comes with anti-surge protection and comes with a whole array of additional cables, plus it has a massive cooling fan and is surprisingly quiet, cost is around �50 - �70. A word of advice, don't be tempted by cheaper versions, there are some out there for around �20 - �30, from what I have been reading (I check forums and reviews before I buy anything) they are just not robust enough and these graphic cards can be quite demanding.
For this price you are in for a wonderful surprise, providing you fit it correctly and download the latest drivers you will have a worry free experience and be safe in knowing you have a bargain compared to ATI's main competitor Nvidia.

ATI are getting better and better and this HD4850 is fantastic, not only baceuse of value, but this really is massive step up from the HD3850, which I had prior to this. One thing I noticed tho was the temp of it, which was at 78c so I changed the colling fan and got a Zalman C900 and the temp went down to 38c. Fantastic card.

Agree with the above review. Changed my Power unit as suggested as I also have a Dell Dimension and it works like a dream. Its a good value mainstream card recommended in PCZone magazine and I Can't fault it. The graphics in Call of Duty World at War are outstanding and so realistic. If you need to upgrade go for this one. Looking forward to the next installment of Total War to fully use this baby.
