I bought this to connect my xbox and ps3 to the same sound system. It has quite a cheap feel to product but I thought this wouldn't matter as its only a switch. It worked for around half an hour and then decided to break. I think one of the plastic components inside snapped.
Another issue was there is a visible drop in the signal strength when going through the switch - comparing the sterngth of the red light from the optical cable clearly shows the signal is weaker.
I'm now looking for an alternative method.

This splitter does not work particulary well with Sky HD. Intially I wanted it so I could use the optical output of Sky HD for 5.1 and the xbox 360. The xbox sound always worked no problem but the sound with Sky was terrible and after awhile there was no sound at all The frequency from the sky box is just to delicate for splitters.
The product arrived quickly and it is working straight out of the pack,no fuss what so ever,Easy to connect and easy to operate.I am delighted with the price and service.

Great idea, bad product
The first TOSlink I got, it did not work at all. None of the links was able to send the audio signal. Got a replacement unit and this one two of the links were ok, but one was not. Read more
