I recently visited Harry Potter world in Orlando and stocked up on souvenirs, but made a real faux pas not buying my son a wand, reckoning he'd prefer something from Jurassic Park... so, with his birthday coming up I thought i'd pick him up a wand, but didn't want to pay the ~£30 for the top of the range prop, in case it got dropped etc. By chance, Amazon recommended this item as it was similar to those i'd been looking at.
The quality of the casting is comparable to the £30 wands, but the quality of the boxes is better and it illuminates at the push of a button. Plus, it comes with a spare power cell, which was quite impressive. The only minor grumble is that the button needed a dab of superglue as it fell out (hence the 4/5 star rating), but other than that, very happy with this.
...and my son has now forgiven me :)

We already have this style of wand(light-up) in the 'Ron' & 'Sirius' versions. The 'Ron' style got damaged beyond repair by my brutal 4 year old and he requested this as a replacement.
I would say it is quite good value for money, the light at the end is bright and overall they are very durable.
In my opinion the 'Ron' & 'Sirius' styles are much more realistic as they have more texture and detail. But the style of Harry's wand does not lend itself to more detail. (not that my 4 year old really cares about that, it's just me)
Overall, a good buy and happy Harry Potter wanna-be's.

Bought this for my Harry potter mad son. This is an LED light so don't expect a torch, but for budding magicians its great fun. Comes in a lovely presentation box with spare batteries.
