This wand, bought by my daughter, was waved by my 7 yr old grandson as he was sitting on the grass, it didn't hit anything, but still it snapped at the narrowest point on the handle. Grandson was heart broken as he had not even had it in his possession for one day. He has quite a few other wands that have all withstood his spells.
When he came to me crying, I discovered, it is certainly is not a toy! Luckily, he did not bang it against anything as it would have likely shattered into pieces, as if it was made of china. It is definately not suitable for young children. It has a strengthening metal wire/rod inside which was not sufficiently long enough to protect it from being shaken,(What else would a child do with a wand?)So it snapped in two. It is currently held together by the very thin wires that are from switch to light bulb. Don't buy it for young children it is only suitable as an ornament.
