Product Description

Life becomes an endless meditation when we make a conscious decision to live in the present. Every act becomes a reality. Most of us live our whole lives in either the past or in expectations. We become the puppets of automatic reactions created by past experience, and while we continue on hoping and dreaming of a better future, we often just end up in the same old muddle. The aim of this book is to help you learn how to acknowledge and change styles of reactive behaviour which are no longer useful to you. The hope of this book is to help you to live in the endless meditation of the present. This is the afterlife, so what are you waiting for?

Pretty Good introduction to this kind of stuff.
Lost a star just for being less powerful and blunt than most of Hyatt's work, which is what I like most about him.
But great introduction to seeing behind the curtain at what's really going on, both 'out there', and especially withing ourselves.

Excellent Book for those of you whom experienced abuse and truly desire to re-claim your True Self and Discover your Destiny! 13 Oct 2013
By Dr. Hartmann - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Hard Zen, Soft Heart concerns the re-programming of the mind/body with the aim of ridding yourself of repetitive self-sabotage. It is written for intelligent, sensitive, and, oftentimes, creative geniuses.

It is written for those of you who KNOW that you are capable of fulfilling your goals, whatever they may be, and yet continue to find yourself trapped or making the wrong choices and decisions.

Some say that doing the same thing while expecting a different result is a definition of "Insanity". But it is also a phenomenon that occurs when humans have suffered extreme duress, abuse, or constant criticism, especially from family members.

The reason you continue to make the same "mistakes" over and over again is NOT INSANITY, nor is it stupidity, ignorant, or psychotic.

Self defeating repetitive decisions or actions are nothing but your mind/body attempting to make itself whole again.

You see, when trauma -- particularly emotional and mental abuse caused by family when you are a child -- not only seats itself in the mind, it also metastasizes into every cell of your body.

Our body/mind's infinitely wise. And because there is no distinct separation between the body/mind, when trauma occurs that succeeds to sever the body/mind (and often soul) connection, our innate healing will do anything to reunite body/mind/soul, so we can feel whole, happy, and have an awesome journey while fulfilling our destiny.

Hard Zen, Soft Heart will not only explain why you can't seem to get "on track" and stop sabotaging yourself, it will provide EXERCISES that will help you help yourself out of what most likely is a nightmarish, daily torment of self-doubt, self-hatred, longing for normalcy (while yearning to re-member the creative, confident person you once were!

This book is well worth the read, for it will not only assure you that you are not insane, nor must you stay on Zoloft, Xanex, painkillers, or self-medicate for the rest of your life just to get through the night. It will also SHOW you METHODS that will help you RECLAIM the GREATEST THING YOU POSSESS: YOUR UNIQUE SELF!

To POSSESS YOUR UNIQUE SELF is to LOVE YOURSELF UNCONDITIONALLY! Just think of the freedom and how much weight would be lifted from your aching heart if you never felt the anxiety of wondering what others thought of you again? How would it feel to write, paint, program, or do whatever job you do feeling GREAT each day because YOU CHOSE it! (Rather than ashamed because of the programming your father imprinted on your spongy child's body/mind when you were growing up.)

Hard Zen, Soft Heart is not some cheesy self-help book that gives you a secret, tells you that all you need do is write down affirmations and you will have supermodels trailing after you and Fortune 500 companies offering your 7 figure salaries....

What this book WILL do for you is speak to you as an adult who has invested money and time to change your unsatisfactory life by 1) Examining how and why you "feel" stuck in High Anxiety, and 2) Give you TOOLS to use to re-claim what is your birthright: YOUR UNIQUE GENETIC DESTINY!

Life does not have to be such a struggle. Read this book, do the exercises, and... if you need more help, you can always send a letter to one of the authors!

You have nothing to lose but old patterns that are not only non-useful, but will continue to sabotage your every desire until YOU recognize these learned patterns and delete them. You might even find that, after a while, you'll have less and less need for Prozac, Ativan, or Vicodin.

Anxiety and Stress cause our bodies to break down. Body/Mind should be one word.

An explanatory book which is a good introduction to Hyatts work, and which is accessible to more people than Undoing Yourself.
