5.0 out of 5 stars O, Holy Land! 15 Nov 2012
Previously reviewer - I am not surprised you managed to find this book in South Africa. In fact, it was translated into Afrikaans and sold 75,000 copies by 23 printing companies over the years, that in a country with just 6 million eligible people that understood the language in which it was presented. I am so glad it touched you in the way it did me. It is one of those books that with the grace of God the message comes to you in a way no other book ever will. The crucifixion is something we in our age can never imagine. The absolute terror of the Roman Empire at the time, the anguish of the Jewish established. The screaming and shouting of the multitudes "Crucify Him! Away with Him!" How fearful they all were really, as they did not understand the birth and then the ultimate crucifixion of Christ.

If you are a Christian, you absolutely must read this book. And even if you are not.

To the reviewer that thought the book 'unpolished with potential" - Ever wondered why the book was written in such an 'unpolished' way? Maybe, it was intended to be exactly that so that the message of everlasting life is brought not just to the few, but to all. If I were you, I would sell my entire book collection, build a sold gold case and keep this one treasured forever. It will serve you well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unpolished, but Full of Potential 29 Jun 2005
By Brian Austin - Published on
This a book that frustrates me deeply to try to review. With an absolutely fascinating plot line that is skillfully developed, it is a story with almost limitless potential. Yet the writing itself is disappointing - more like a first draft than a polished work. This is a book that deserves to be revisited and rewritten when the author has gained a bit more depth and maturity as a writer. It has too much potential to be allowed to die. There is too much richness. All the potential is here for one of the truly great books of this generation - but it is an unmined treasure in its present form.

This is one book I want in my personal library if its full richness is ever developed.
