Product Description

Product Description

With the reputation as the hardest and most dangerous female criminal in Britain, Gypsy Jane Lee was feared and respected throughout London’s criminal underworld. This is her true story. During a terrifying journey that began as a 14-year-old armed robber, she has been shot four times, tasered three times by police and served three jail terms. Convicted for armed robbery she was released from prison only to go out and attempt to murder four people. Gypsy Jane has led a life packed with crime, betrayal, drugs and murder but she classes herself as a woman of principles: she values loyalty and honour, and has only ever wanted a ‘normal’ life.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poppycock 18 July 2012
By Suzie
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Jane Lee is definitely totally deluded. This book is more a work of fiction than a true life story. She calls herself "Gypsy" - she was no more a gypsy than anyone else. Her Dad may have come from gypsy stock, but she was brought up in Silvertown, and was a cockney kid, the same as all the other kids. She rattled on and on about "honour" "loyalty" and how much she would "die" for certain people, especially her son. Well, she loved her son so much, yet she wasn't there for most of his childhood. She spent most of his precious years getting into scrapes and doing trips to France buying beer illegally, and being locked up in prison. For what? All the money she made out of her dodgy deals, didn't improve her lifestyle, after all the thousands she was supposed to have made, she still lived in a Council flat! So - what did she gain from her criminal acts? I feel sad for her son, who was left to his own devices from the age of 15. Some mother she turned out to be, thank goodness she only had one child. As for being the most dangerous woman in Britain - sheer poppycock!

1.0 out of 5 stars Average,Over Exagerated 4 Jun 2012
By Jthomp
This book is over exagerated, I put this down to the publisher John Blake glamourising a brutal life. But this is how John Blake make their money and people buy this stuff. I'm wasnt going to say a bad word about Jane Lee because well done for the stuff you have over come, but the thought of armed robberies having no victims is completely untrue and narrow minded. It leaves the victim with years of mental trauma. Just read Noel Razor Smith A FEW KIND WORDS and A RUSTY GUN to see this. I don't believe a lot of this book and believe a lot has been over exagerated. Books that I would recommend are The Devil by Stevie French-Moody By Wensley Clarkson- Books By Razor Smith- The Lost Boyz Justin Rollins- Street Boys Jaja Soze....... Books that tell it how it is.........Tell It Proper

1.0 out of 5 stars work of fiction 27 Jun 2012
By Dave
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
this book for me left a whiff in the air of bulls**t, we are supposed to believe that this woman entered an eastend pub full with 30-40 gun wielding drug dealing gangsters, approached the boss of these gangsters, then pulled out a gun smashing the boss in the mouth and knocking his teeth out with it, then thrust the gun into his mouth and threatened to shoot him, resulting in this boss urinating in his pants, while his armed henchmen crouched behind a pool table crying!!...yeh right!! course you did love....the woman is clearly not all there, and the basis of this book seems to have come from the scribblings of a deranged mind, it is littered with stories about WHAT she would do to people, but she dos'ent actually do it, it is also littered with stories of how shes reduced 6ft, 20 stone men to tears by beating them up...again..very hard to believe, plenty of stories about smashing up objects with her swords, but apart from smashing vases on a mans head nothing violent happened, the book is based on threats of what she would do etc..but thats all it is, is threats, all threats and no action
i think ive said enough, this girl definitely watched too many episodes of jackanory

1.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable 28 Sep 2012

I don't believe for ten seconds at least 95% (and I'm probably being kind) of what Jane says she has done or said. For starters, surely if this woman is so notorious in the gangland scene we would have all heard of her before this book and her appearance on this morning? Even some of her exploits from way back I'm sure would be documented by now on several sites on the Internet yet I couldn't find anything apart from the articles on when she got shot, and as above, her tv appearance and book release.

Jane has 'a love affair with guns' yet as many people have pointed out, she doesn't seem to know her M16 from her MDF! As well as being one of the hardest women in Britain, she's also very modest 'I was five foot seven with long blonde hair and a figure to die for. I really looked good'. As for her son John he can do no wrong and it became a bit repetitive to hear 'he was the most handsome and perfect son'.

I find it incredibly hard to swallow that Jane could make a gang boss, pee his pants, in front of at least 30 other criminals, whilst others where nearly in tears. Most of what she says sounds so far fetched that any real story is lost, which is a shame, as clearly this lady had indeed had a colourful life however from what I can gather its been embellished and laid on thick to make a better read, not really what you want from a non fiction book - this reads more like bad fiction if I'm honest!

'He was trying to put me in the boot of his motor but I fought him all they way. Two cars crashed because they were watching us. A police van pulled up and two coppers got out and stated to come over. I was screaming for help but Matt just shouted that it was a domestic and put me in the boot. They didn't lift a finger'. Seriously!?! Are we expected to believe this?

Unrealistic at times and repetitive in parts but still worth a read. Tries to much to be 'gangster' which is hard to swallow
