Episodes 5-8 of the anime series adapted from Yoshiki Takaya's long-running manga chronicles. With each passing day, the evil grip of the Chronos Corporation is tightening on Sho. When his friend Mizuki is targeted by a powerful Zoanoid and innocent lives are lost, he has no choice but to step forward and settle things once and for all. Unfortunately, Sho soon finds that he's bitten off more than he can chew as the transformed Genzo Makishima exacts his bitter revenge on the Guyver I. Meanwhile, the enigmatic Guyver III puts his own plans into action and prepares for a final showdown at Chronos Headquarters. As the countdown to destruction begins, the three Guyvers face off - and the shocking truth behind the creation of the Zoanoids is revealed.

Format: DVD
The first episode on this DVD release (the 5th of the series) takes a break from the action of the previous four to concentrate on the relationship between the Sho and Tetsuro. Reflecting on the recent happenings and with glances at old family photographs, the episode successfully captures the melancholy it is after. Pretty soon after we are back to action with the return of Enzyme. I say 'return' but it's actually the first time Enzyme appears in this series, but if you've seen the previous incarnations of Guyver then you'll have been expecting the poison laden hairy beasty.

I don't want to say too much about the story at this point in case this is the first time you've experienced Guyver, but we get to see another example of the awesome power of the Guyver unit when it regenerates the host.

By the end of this DVD we are familiar with all aspects of the evil Cronos corporation and find out the awful truth behind the origins of the Zoanoids and humanity itself. We are nothing but the result of an ancient experiment, Tetsuro finds this difficult to deal with - but I suppose it's not nice to hear that the hideous monsters you're fighting are pretty much distant cousins!

We go from having three Guyver units to two in a thrilling episode to finish this DVD. Makishima, the third Guyver (sssssh, the main characters don't know it yet) will no doubt be the space to watch in upcoming episodes. Again the animation is superb and the high standards of the first four episodes are continued in these next four.

In a nutshell: The plethora of additional features found in the first DVD dwindles for the second DVD. If you like watching with an English dub then you'll enjoy the 5.1 surround sound, whereas the original Japanese soundtrack is presented in bog standard stereo. Overall not as great as the first DVD, but still very good.

This is volume 2 of the guyver series. In this volume Sho fights Enzyme Which is probly the best Guyver villain EVER! AND DIES!!! There no point telling the rest because you probly know what happens. This volume is good but not as good as the first volume. The First episode was wasted and pointless but a good attempt to make it a little bit different from the original series. There are many fight scenes in this volume the best probly being guyver vs enzyme. But The bad thing about this is that they dont do the Mega Smasher as much and you dont properly see it which was a real let down

The best bits:
Enzyme was in this volume which is great
Many fight scenes
more violent then the last volume

The worst bits:
The first episode was crap! really boring
There are not alot of mega smashers in this which was probly the worst thing about it

All in all it was good but not as good as the first volumebut dont that let this review put you off continue watching it

Well it seems now the story has vastly improved over the first volume which I expect only to keep getting better. The second volume features episodes 5-8 and they are very impressive as the action and plot really ramp up for some really impressive battles with new Zoanoids entering the fray to battle Guyver which result in many hardships for the main characters as Cronos decides to go all out to capture Guyver 1.

As usual the animation is excellent as is monster designs which are excellent with plenty of detail put into their animation and voice acting. Though the extras this time round have decreased as theres no commentary but theres still some extras which is more than I can say for some anime releases. Other than that it's another great release from ADV.

Extras:
Anime to Manga Comparisons
Clean Opening and Ending
Production Art
ADV Previews
