I picked this up in a book store promotion in Oxford to add to my holiday reading. I can't say that I was disappointed with it having read nothing by this author before, I can only say that it just isn't very good. I like to read lighter fiction sometimes, but these stories were uninsipring and cliched, with poor characterisation, surprisingly bad writing, and to my mind the stories themselves didn't seem to go anywhere and lacked the clever or satisfying closing 'twist' which one can usually expect.

I honestly thought that my copy of The Guy Not Taken had been badly printed and put together...
The lack of cohesion between characters and stories is such that I really was sure it must have been a mistake.
I convinced myself to read it to the end anyway, hoping for that last final twist that will teach me to be patient...but it never happened.
I love recommending books to friends, but that won't happen with this one.
