More About the Author

Gill Jepson lives in Barrow-in-Furness with her husband. She returned to Furness after 12 years in London. She has 2 grown up sons, a daughter and two grandsons.Gill was inspired to write her debut adventure story, Out of Time, by the beautiful Furness Abbey and her dad: "My Dad used to tell me about the time he encountered the Furness Abbey ghost as a child", says Gill. "Furness Abbey has always been one of my favourite places, peaceful but magical." She hopes that her books will inspire new generations to fall in love with Furness Abbey too. There are two more books in the Out of Time series, "Raven's Hoard" and "The Cistercian Conspiracy". "Guy the Grumpy Gargoyle" about a little gargoyle who loses his brothers is aimed at 3-7 year olds.

Gill regularly visits schools and groups providing author events, talks and workshops.

Format: Paperback
I bought this book as I have a love for anything to do with Furness Abbey. Although it is a book for children I really enjoyed spending a few moments reading it and enjoying all the lovely illustrations with in it. If you have young kids I would definitely recommend this book for them, especially if you know and visit Furness Abbey! Once you've read the book and next visit the abbey I'm sure you will be looking around to see if you can see Guy the Grumpy Gargoyle sitting somewhere on the ruins. I know I will be! As I say in the title of this review, a great book for children!
