Product Description

Product Description

On Gudrun's programme I ate more, weighed less and restored my mental clarity' Mary Killen. Most doctors now accept that diet has a profound effect on our overall health and wellbeing. Gudrun Jonsson takes this one step further with her belief that the best diet in the world counts for nothing if you don't digest the food properly. Apparently thousands of us suffer from a range of ailments - from minor bloating after meals to chronic migraine and stress - because we have poor digestion. Using her training as a biopath she passes on her knowledge of the body and explains how to analyze our digestive systems and plan a regime that will improve the overall wellbeing of all of us.

5.0 out of 5 stars The silver bullet to health, 10 Jun 2000
This review is from: Gut Reaction: A Revolutionary Programme That Kick-starts Your Digestion and Detoxes Your Body System (Positive health) (Paperback)
A superb easy read - you will need a highlighter pen! Excellent content, with principles, which you can apply to your own problems. We switched to mineral water, bought a steamer and a juicer and followed the diet principles - we feel great. My wife who has had no end of stomach trouble and chronic fatigue was feeling better in a week and within three weeks was cured. She also lost weight and inches! I have sent three copies to friends.

This review is from: Gut Reaction: A Revolutionary Programme That Kick-starts Your Digestion and Detoxes Your Body System (Positive health) (Paperback)
A good way to open your eyes to the idea of health through digestion, but some of the messages are confusing. If you're suffering from one of the specific ailments covered - such as asthma, migraines, constipation or low blood sugar - this book gives a clear, gentle plan of how to change what and how you eat, in order to allow your body to heal rather than struggle to cope with the wrong foods on an overloaded system. If you're looking for a general health overhaul, though, there's too much mixed information. Acid-producing foods vs. alkaline producing foods: sometimes they're good, sometimes bad, but which & when is hard to work out. Skip the over-technical first chapter on the biology of the intestine, and take a big (metaphorical) pinch of salt with all the "science" claims about toxins burrowing and blocking your system, and pick out the good common sense advice.
For details about diet plans, look elsewhere, but a great place to start considering your health.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book everyone should read!, 24 Feb 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Gut Reaction: A Revolutionary Programme That Kick-starts Your Digestion and Detoxes Your Body System (Positive health) (Paperback)
Nothing has more of an impact on our general health than the food we put in our mouths, so it goes without saying that we should all educate ourselves about the way our digestive system works. This book explains everything you need to know in plain English and shows how poor eating habits can often lead to problems like obesity.
