This is good value. Gustav Leonhardt, one of the stalwarts of the "early music movement" (should there be such a thing) has just passed a significant birthday and Sony has pulled together a representative 15 titles from his time with the label and put them in a clam-shell box. Because the booklet is desultory, I can't give it 5 stars, although the performances are all fine.

Amazon has not listed the box contents (all in reproduction LP/CD sleeves - very nice), so here goes.

1. J S Bach Goldberg Variations from 1978, ex-DHM label.
2. J S Bach Organ Works from 1990, ex-DHM label.
3. Renaissance & Baroque organ works from 1973, ex-Seon label.
4. Dutch Renaissance & Baroque organ works from 1984, ex-Seon label.
5. Harpsichord works by Weckmann & Froberger from 1997, ex-Sony Classical label.
6. Works by Bohm for clavichord and harpsichord from 1993, ex-Sony Vivarte label.
7. D. Scarlatti harpischord sonatas from 1979, ex-Seon label.
8. L. Couperin harpsichord works from 1980, ex-DHM label.
9. French harpsichord music from 1991, ex-DHM label.
10. J S Bach concertos from 1965/1976, ex-DHM label.
11. J S Bach cantatas 27/34/41 from 1996, ex- Sony Classical label.
12. J S & C P E Bach harpsichord concertos from 1982, ex-Seon label.
13. Corelli Op.5 sonatas from 1980, ex-Seon label.
14. Telemann "Paris Quartets" from 1997, ex-Sony Vivarte label.

These are very fine recordings, all of them, and this Sony box is an excellent way of obtaining them at low cost. Make sure you like the harpsicord, which is here played by a master.

Shame that the original notes are not provided though!
