A must buy if you program with SQL,

This review is from: The Guru's Guide to Transact SQL (Paperback)
If you work with SQL Server then this book is an absolute must, there is no word for it. Don't expect any fancy pictures, just true down-to-earth results, examples (600+ on CD-ROM) and tons of exercises with clear and concise results. I wouldn't recommend it for beginners, but if you work with SQL every day you need this book. There just is nothing that can compare to it, I've looked.

Excellent thorough coverage,

This review is from: The Guru's Guide to Transact SQL (Paperback)
Excellent review of the important and less used features of Transact SQL. My only gripe is that it doesn't say what version of T-SQL it is aimed at - it appears to be somewhere between version 7.0 and 2000, although useful 2000 features such as functions are not discussed.Hopefully a new edition will be available soon...

Past its sell-by date.,

This review is from: The Guru's Guide to Transact SQL (Paperback)
This book only covers up to SQL 7. Written in 2000 it is now way past its sell-by date. Although written for T-SQL coders I found very little caught my eye.I found it a complete waste of money.
