Product Description

Gunslinger Girl is one of those manga series that makes you think about what you've read once you put the book down. Unlike so many manga on the market, Gunslinger Girl has some real substance. --IGN.COM. Gunslinger Girl is a surprisingly dark but fascinating story with as much psychological drama as action. I strongly recommend it.

About the Author

Yu Aida is best known as the writer and artist of Gunslinger Girl, and resides in Tokyo, Japan.

The blurb on this last book describes it as heart warming but I felt more heartbroken than anything else. The ending to the main storyline is just so incredibly gentle and sad that I found myself thinking about it repeatedly for a couple of days afterwards. I even turned back to the last pages several times to re-read them.

I felt that this was exactly the right way to end the series, keeping true to the heart and style of the stories, and even feeling like a farewell to characters I've come to know over the course of the books. I'm very very hopeful that the anime series is continued and remains as true to the books as the first two seasons have been.

There is an extra chapter at the end of the book which caps it all off on a high note but I felt the real ending was with the generation 1 cyborgs.

I've followed this series over the years and have loved every minute of it so I was so pleased it had an ending I loved. It can be very hard for writers to create an ending to a series that meets with every fan's expectations (just look at the fuss over Mass Effect's ending), and I can honestly say I wasn't expecting this, but the writer has, in my opinion, got it just right.

I was nervous about this final volume. Gunslinger Girl is certainly one of the greatest manga series ever written, yet so often over-looked due to the girl and gun association and the assumption it's a fan service product for the hentai otaku out there. It is also hard to write this review without giving any spoilers.

Over 14 volumes Yu Aida took us on a roller coaster ride, playing on our emotions as the story rapidly moved on from one of pure action, to a tale of the girls themselves and their handlers. As we moved through their pasts and saw them move in to their twilight years our heart strings were plucked time and time again. So considering the high octane nature of volumes 13 and 14, what would the ending be like, would it continue the same, way, would it be a damp squib.

Suffice to say the angle Aida took was different, but works so well. It just feels right without pushing or exploiting any action or tears.

I bought this book for my sister for Christmas and although I haven't read these books personally, my sister has and she tells me that it has a great story line and the illustrations are amazing.

After buying so many of these books for her, I'm thinking about reading the series now as well. I highly recommend! Came on time and it perfect shape.

This volume contains the last few chapters to the Gunslinger Girl managa. Those who have read it online may find some minor deviations between the fan-translated work and the Seven Seas version. However, there is an additional epilogue after Jean leaves the family plot, but before the 'Esperanza' telescope ending that wraps up the lives of Rico, Petra, and Claes. This epilogue was not found in the other scanlation sites online, so it alone is worth the cost if you're a completist like I am.

Aside from that, there aren't any addition background pages, nor any character sketch pages, etc. It's just chapter 15, which means it's roughly half the pages of the early Seven Seas tomes.

I love the series, what can I see. It helps to have seen the DVDs. The first series was the best, the second was a little lower budget with quality, but then you are hooked on the story. The books cover more side stories and unlike so many manga series that go on forever, this plot is going somewhere and comes to an end.

Wow it's been so long since I have read the first three manga back in 05'. I didn't know the story was completed. Gonna get the rest of mangas to complete it. Got it in new condition, perfect no blemishes on the manga.

As a loyal Gunslinger Girl fan, I loved it. Having completed the series now, and reading this volume in one day, this is surely a page-turner. I highly recommend this series to other people.
