"Guns Of Brixton" is indeed a previous Timlin novel "Answers From the Grave" re-badged and given a new look, but the content is the same. That said, it's a fine, page-turning novel from a writer who certainly knows how to constuct a compelling page turner, and this family epic set in the London badlands is rivetting.
The Kindle version at 0.89 pence seems unbelievably good value, and you've got to wonder how anyone is making money on this. But it's certainly great to have this book again and be able to re-acquaint oneself with some tough, violent but well-constructed crime writing. One other oddity about the book - the cover photo is currently adorning the paperback version of Robert Ludlum's Bourne Identity - or something virtually identical to it anyway.
A small, insignificant point perhaps, but only adds to the mongrel feel of this release, cobbled together as it is from a previous title - and now, seemingly, a photo used on another book. But it's the content that counts - and for under a pound, you can't fail to see this as tremendous value for money.
