Manufacturer's Description

The game that started the modern music phenomenon is back, with more songs, more bands and more party game action. Just like Guitar Hero: World Tour you can play as a whole band with your friends, with lead guitar, bass, drums and vocals all working together in the same song.

The game that changed the way the world interacts with music is back
New RockFest modes bring lots of new ways to play
Now you can play any combination of instruments you want, whenever you want
Being a rock god is more of a team effort than ever

What's new for Guitar Hero 5 though is that anyone can play any combination of instruments, so you can have four lead guitars if you want or even swap roles mid song. As a result each individual has their own Star Power meter and it's up to the best players to save others if things go wrong.

To encourage even more co-operation there's also the new Band Moments bonus, which doles out big rewards if every member of the team can complete a section together. With the RockFest feature adding tons of new game modes as well this is the best value Guitar Hero yet.

Key Features
  • Monster of rock: The biggest Guitar Hero yet with new ways to play, new rewards and the biggest line-up of master recordings ever seen.
  • Jam with the band: Party Play option lets players join or leave a song whenever they want, or even change instruments or difficultly level mid-song.
  • Rock festival: New game modes including Momentum, which changes the difficultly as you play, and Elimination, where the weakest link player is dropped if they mess up.
  • Special moments: New "Band Moments" offer big rewards if everyone can co-operate for a set stretch of rock perfection.

1.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE OLD GUITAR 12 Sep 2009
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
feel very misled.
Cant believe this is shipped with the old guitar. The new model guitar has been vastly improved and should come with the bundle, or be properly advertised.
Suggest waiting for bundle containing new guitar model.

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Ignore the stars - this is just to make potential buyers aware, this is shipping with the old GHWT controller. I'm not sure yet if this is applicable to all packs sold, but I can vouch that the one I received contains the old controller, and looking on the official forums it appears lots of people are seeing this. To be fair the picture on the box shows the old controller, but it was not made clear to me when buying that this was the case...

5.0 out of 5 stars Guitar Hero Rocks! 16 Oct 2009
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is my first GH game and I think the concept is fantastic. I have played it quite a lot since getting it and find it very addictive. Saying this I am still only on 3 buttons!! But it's great fun and since buying a second guitar my husband and I have become very competitive and both enjoy it! The only slightly negative comment would be that I don't know many of the songs so this I find makes it a little harder to get the timing right. But practice and perserverance are in abundance.
All in all the bundle was very good value for money as it came with 2 games to rock out to and different songs across both!

5.0 out of 5 stars Guitar Hero 5 - Rocks 15 Jan 2010
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My eldest Daughter is a Musician and she thought this would be a stroll in the park. Boy was she wrong. But credit where credit is due, she got to grips with the Guitar and has enjoyed many hours of fun with it. Even my youngest daughter is loving playing this game. So i would like to say that this game is not just for boys. Well worth the money I spent on GH5

3.0 out of 5 stars Make sure you read what it says at checkout 30 Sep 2009
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
We preordered Guitar hero 5 with amazon along with the promise of the world tour game. When we received the game we did not get a copy of the world tour game. I emailed amazon and they suggested that to gain the free software you have to add the world tour game alongside guitar hero 5 at checkout and the difference is refunded. I have checked the site for instructions on this and cannot find them? amazon have been really helpful though and sent us a copy of world tour. Make sure when you buy a product with something free that there are instructions telling you how to claim the free software beleive me it saves you an awful lot of time and messing around. The guitar buttons also stick but thats because its cheap and plastic!
