5.0 out of 5 stars Best chord book 12 Dec 2007
Format:Spiral-bound
simple as that
easy to read and navigate, even for those who get numbers and letters mixed up
one chord picture per page with a few more advanced ones added in the back, spiral-bound (who would want a paperback that closes itself all the time?)
if you need a chord book, this is the one

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool for beginners! 23 Aug 2011
Format:Spiral-bound|Verified Purchase
I am very pleased with this purchase. I am a beginner at guitar and have found this book very good for getting me to grips with the chords. The book shows all chords from more than one position, which is great as there are a few ways to play each chord. The chord diagrams are very clear thus easy to understand. So much so, I also recommend this for the young beginner. It's good if you want to teach yourself or if you wish to use it to compliment professional lessons. Personally, I am teaching myself and have found that using this alongside the fantastic Garage band guitar tutorials is a great combination and I am learning very quickly too. It is quite a thick booklet but not a large book so won't take up too much room in a bag. As other reviewers have also mentioned...it is ring binded meaning it is easy to leave open to glance at whilst your hands are occupied with the guitar. I recommend this to anyone who plays or wants to play guitar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent... BUY IT! 14 July 2009
Format:Spiral-bound
Great guide to get you started.

I play bass and wanted to learn some acoustic guitar, I found (and still find) this book to be great. It's small and fits in a gig bag yet contains loads of chords, each one laid out very clearly and in a logical order. Each page displays a diagram showing which fingers you should be ideally using for each note, so it's great for those who are relatively new to chords.

Obviously it won't teach you much about music theory, but for those who have a basic knowledge this is a cracking companion. Alternatively, if you are starting out from scratch and just want to get going with a few basic songs then a copy of this book along with a bit of time spent on a chord / tab websites or with a book of basic songs should get you going in no time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book! 6 Jun 2012
Format:Spiral-bound|Verified Purchase
Really clear to understand chord book, the fact its spiral bound is awesome and makes it easier to leave open on the page you're viewing.
For the people who say its not clear to understand and dosent teach anything, its not a tuition book!! Its simply a chord dictionary!!

I've had a few chord books, this is by far the best one.

4.0 out of 5 stars A useful little book 19 Sep 2011
Format:Spiral-bound
A useful little book.
Small enough to carry around, and spiral bound so it lies flat when open.
Good value for money.

I've had this book for 4-6 days now and I've only managed to quickly read it once and actually use it once.
It is really easy to read - I couldn't understand chord boxes/diagrams until I read this book.
I strongly recommend this book for beginners, those who can't read chord diagrams and intermediate players to use it as a "dictionary".
It could even be helpful for experts.

I am teaching myself guitar and refused to learn chords as I wanted to feel the music, but where's the problem in learning the chords AND feeling the music. No teacher needed.

Only reason why it's not 5 stars is because it does get really tempting to just skip pages to the next one and the thickness of it is a bit daunting. Definitely NOT a "pocket book"

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple chord book 29 Aug 2013
Format:Spiral-bound|Verified Purchase
Exactly how described. A good book for all musicians beginners or experienced as a reference book. Quite chunky so not easy- to-carry.
