I have been tring to play with various degrees of success for several years now. I have countless books that will enable me to play in a day? but I feel that books can only do so much whereas watching someone do something can show all the little details that the text doesn't cover. To this end I decided to get some visual training and as I cannot afford lessons I opted for this 2 dvd set. I must say that I found Lens presentation excellent & he comes across as a very nice bloke & at first I felt I was learning at last. But after a short while it came back to the usual statement, before you can go any further, learn all the fretboard, read music, scales and modes. Now I'm not saying this is wrong, I've since learnt the fretboard & read music (not all that fast yet!) & am working on scales, but my gripe is that I could have got all this from my books, what I want to see is hands on training showing all the moves, common mistakes/problem areas & maybe bits to play along with so I can assess my progress. I thought this lacking on the dvd's & the onsite user area seems very basic with sketchy detail. Maybe its just me but I think that what I learnt could have just as easy been on a cd. Rick
