4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but kinda repetitive 28 Dec 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is a fascinating insight into the minds of some of the best-known guitar collectors, with interviews, plenty of pictures, and stories behind some of the most famous guitars around.

So what's the problem?

Simply that a lot of the collectors own the same kinds of guitars. I lost count of the Strats and Les Pauls after a while, and could really have used some variety. That's not the collectors' fault - they own what they own - but be warned. Especially if you don't care for Strats or Les Pauls.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good coffee table book... 10 Nov 2013
By Richard W. Wise - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Good coffee table addition.

Just what it professes to be...good for casual collectors, less so if you want a very detailed, specific book about guitars. I liked the format as well as the pictures. Not for the hard core...mostly entertainment

if you are truly a person that loves guitars and the music that comes from them . you need to have this book. I thought as fan of guitar I might place this book on the coffee table to have too look at ever now and than. Once i open the book couldn't take my hands off for 4 days . Just keep going thru the collection that these people had and just couldn't but it down.

This book has beautiful photographs and good narrative discussing each guitar. It is of high quality, well put together and has gold leaf on the page edges which adds to it's nice design. I bought this for my husband and he loves it. This book is great for any guitar lover and would look great on a coffee table.
