Whilst i prefer the whacky humour of the Tango adverts, i also adore the art of the Guinness adversts. All the way from the 60s/70s black & white advers up until the latest advert - "17:59 It's Guinness Time", Guinness have made some cracking adverts. This CD celebrates 250 years of Guinness and features songs from the amazing adverts. There's "Guaglione" which was on the famous 1994/1995 "Anticipation" advert (better known to some as the one with the dancing man), there's "Phat Planet" from the famous 1999 advert "Surfer" (a.k.a. 'Surfers & Horses') and plenty more. There's a punky Pixies song at track 16 which i think was also on a car advert (i could be wrong though) and there's "Mambo No. 5" from 1998's "Swimblack" adverts ('Good things come to those who wait'). There's also songs from adverts i don't know very well (regardless of wheteher i know the song well) like "We Have Explosive" and "Mr. Blue Sky" from the Famous ELO. This CD is great. It's full of variety. It all starts off a bit 50's jazzy/swing, then suddenly launches into the electronic big beat scene of the mid-late 1990s, and then rock remains to finish the CD. I suggest this CD. I love it.

Wonderfully Diverse! 30 April 2011
Format:Audio CD
This is a brilliant cd to add to anyone's collection because it contains wonderfully diverse titles, from The Look Of Love by Dusty Springfield to Mr. Blue Sky by ELO! There is something for everyone! Personally, I would never have bought The Story Of My Life by Michael Holliday (sorry Michael!) but I find myself singing it during the day, and it's very pleasant!!!
There are several songs which I recognised when I heard them, but had no idea what they were, for example Isla De Ecanta by The Pixies! What? Well, you'll know it straight away when you listen to it, trust me!
And I bought the cd on the strength of the first track, Guaglione by Perex Prado, which brings back such wonderful memories of drinking Guinness with friends and having a laugh.
So go ahead, by yourself this wonderful cd, you won't regret it!
