4.0 out of 5 stars Very useful book! 12 Sep 2003
Format:Paperback
Very in-depth Reason manual, but only goes up to Reason 2, doesn't cover Scream, etc. Nice if an updated version was produced, nevertheless plenty here to be getting on with in the mean time!
Gear used; Pentium 4 1300Mhz,512mb ram, 4-octave midi keyboard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Book for anyone new to reason 19 Jan 2004
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This book is Excellent and gives step by step tutorials and explains what everything is, how to use it, and why. Includes plenty of screen shots to help you understand and different useful tips. Within half an hour of readin it i was using reason to make their tutorial song.

Its suitable for versions of reason up to 2.0 (based really upon 2.0), and also covers issues to do with MAC users.

Highly recommended for beginers to Reason, like myself.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad. 28 Jan 2004
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
The book starts well, with a tutorial taking you through a basic song but from then on, you're on your own. The rest of the book is devoted to in depth studies of the various Reason components. Some longer tutorials of more complex songs would have been helpful. So if you are new to music making I don't think this is the book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic ...... Buy it ! 23 Sep 2003
By DaveEP
Format:Paperback
Step by step guide that takes you through everything. It not only tells you 'what' to do, but 'why' you do it, which gives a better understanding and means it's also easier to remember what you learn. If you can't learn reason inside out from this book, you never will.....!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for beginners 9 Sep 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This is a very good guide to reason. But it is worth noting that it is also extremely useful if you are using Reason to learn the basics of music production. For example, the Subtractor chapter is a very good guide to Analogue Synthesis in general which even explains how to achieve specific sounds by way of example. I have found no other book which uses this obvious but clear approach. The tutorials will translate well to other equipment also - I figured out how to use my Novation K-Station using this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellente, but what about 2.5! 11 April 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This book is an excellent guide to Reason that'll teach you everything you need/want to know about versions 1 -> 2.01. For those that find the manual hard going and want a more indepth explanation of techniques this is ideal.

The only downside is that it doesn't currently cover the 5 new devices in the version 2.5 update.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast Guide to Propellerhead Reason 3 Feb 2003
Format:Paperback
An excellent guide. Well worth waiting for as it now covers both Reason versions (1 and 2). The layout is very clear and easy to follow with loads of illustrations showing actual screen shots. No wonder it took so long to produce.
