Whilst the potential target audience for this series of books is potentially narrow - budding (or experienced) entrepreneurs seeking advice on how to successfully set up a professional services firm, the author, Dom Moorhouse, has managed to blend high quality practical advice with a very human narrative about his own personal journey.
The first book in the series lays bear the realities of getting a start up organisation off the ground and provides valuable insight on the motivations of the few who succeed in this challenging arena.
The remainder of the series builds to provide helpful practical advice on building the critical elements of a professional services firm that will delight clients (most of the time), staff and future investors alike.
I have already found myself returning to the series to find specific guidance on challenges I face in my current role. I am sure you will find the same.

Review of Guide 01. Dom and his team have produced a concise, well written and entertaining guide for budding entrepreneurs. The enthusiasm and balanced advice, which concentrates on key principles with surrounding anecdotes and practical sessions, provides the reader with a realistic and rounded view of what is required to make it in business. His honesty about the difficulties experienced during the process adds credibility, especially the section written by his wife, which provides an interetsing perspective!

This book makes essential reading material for anyone with entrepreneurial aspirations or who has made a move from employment into business start-up.

The series focuses on starting, growing and selling a professional services firm, drawing upon the author's experience of realizing this journey from conception to £20m valuation within only five years. Whilst the slant is on professional services there is enough start-up advice to make this guide equally relevant to anyone considering starting a business in any industry.

I found it a hugely readable, practical and inspirational guide. One I will refer to regularly throughout my own start-up. At an excellent price too! Looking forward to the next book in the series.

The guide also took me to [...] where there is a wealth of equally practical supporting material.

This book absolutely transfers decent theory in to deliverable practice and I wish I had it 10 years ago. If you are thinking of starting out or wondering what more you could do with your business it is essential reading. The professional firm is too often overlooked in the management literature
