In my view, the best of any of the jazz bossa nova recordings made by Stan Getz. Long tracks with wonderfully interwoven playing by both artists which turned me into a fan of Laurindo Almeida. Listen to some of the recordings he made with Charlie Byrd.

Getz at his best, intimate small group jazz, smooth, sophisticated and above all melodic. Like his effortless style and your sure to love this.

This bight and breezy Samba classic from 1963 needs to be in your collection. Beautifully recorded and of course performed with style and sophistication as you might expect from the leaders (not forgetting the superb rhythm section) it’s an album made for a summers day or if a mood needs to be lifted. Getz has his beautiful warm tone and of course his understated way with a melody is second to none, while Laurindo Almedia pleases with his finger guitar style, together they are a match made in Heaven.

At six tracks the album is a little on the short side, but every tune is a treat. If you need to be persuaded, try ‘Winter Moon’, it’s a languid little bit of melancholia and very representative of what this album is all about. Recommended.

Good feel record. Cheers you up when you're down. I have this on vinyl and must get the CD. Not as cheesy as other bossa records - more complex rhythms. Excellent improvisation. One of my favourite records.
