This is a really comprehensive book which gives a great overview on the house and history of Gucci. The text in the beginning of the book doesn't look like much at a first glance, but the huge pages leaves you with just enough to read. The end of the book does also include a timeline with the most significant events in the history of Gucci. Maybe the text doesn't give any real pleasure to the hardcore Gucci fan, but I think it will do pretty well for all those who just want to know a little more about this exciting fashion house. Though I've to admit the text excludes some of the controversial moments in the history of the brand, and for those who want to fill their minds with this stuff I can highly recommend "The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed" by Sara G. Forden.
Talking about the pictorial part (which constitutes most of the pages in this rather big book), there is a really good collection of celebrities wearing Gucci clothes,of advertising campaigns and of all the iconic Gucci accessories. For the ones who only want to study sketches and the design process of the garments, this book could maybe be a dissapointment.
If you find the limited edition of this book in "la pelle guccissima slipcase" I highly recommend you to buy it, it's a gorgeous (and enourmous) tome which will make a significant enhancement too any coffee table.
