Excellent condition. Bought for my son who would love to go there. New buys cost too much. Book looked brand new.

In dire need of a good editor 3 Jan. 2008

Format: Paperback
This book provides some basic information but is badly organized. In the section on Guatemalan history, which is organized chronologically, events are often described out of sequence. Better than nothing, but a great editor could make it better organized and easier to follow.
Descriptive and detailed 20 Feb. 2015

This is definitely a niche book. It is not a travel guide book or a good story. But if you are looking for a description of what people are like in gross generalities and what you are likely to face in business situations, I think it is an excellent resource. I am planning a mission trip to Guatemala in the summer and it met my needs exactly. (of course I am hoping it is actually accurate -- we shall find out after I return).

I changed from reading guide books to reading about customs and etiquette. It's a wonderful way to prepare for visiting a country.
