Great album 8 Mar 2007
Format:Audio CD
I played this through about 6 or 7 times within a few days of getting this album. Its a fantastic blend of spoken word introductions and great traditional tunes with Dublin as its theme. From the rolling rythm of "The Mero" which (fits as a theme tune for the album) to the fantastic rendition of "Waltzing Matilda" it tells stories of an old town and what it is becoming.

Theres a blend of sentimental tunes, traditional and humour capped by the great voice of the ex Duliners singer.

It's worth mentioning this was the second solo album and was recorded in 1978 and he returned to play with The Dubliners (where I had the pleasure of seeing them twice in the ninties) and went on to make other solo albums too.

This is highly recomended in my opinion, a 21 year old who was introduced to The Dubliners as a boy and after getting the recordings out again had a real thirst to hear more.

Great album, get well soon Ronnie
