Grundig GU15WDVDT combi TV/DVD, 6 Jan 2008
There are were not many options on the market, so we thought we would go for a reasonably priced named brand. Like most televisions today, within minutes after unpacking we were setup and watching. Good picture and screen size, ideal for our bedroom. Basic instructions, easy to use remote with handy "goto "button on DVD as, obviously, no chapter/time display.
A wide selection of video inputs and additional USB / card reader, a proper multi media docking station. However, the on board stereo speakers are a little narrow and thin.
The DVD has a handy memory which remembers the last position on the disk, although, this function seems a little hit and miss when you are watching two different films.
On the down side, we have found the screen is best viewed from directly in front or slightly below. Which is unfortunate as we mainly view from a higher prospective. The picture gets washed out.
The EPG can only be viewed a channel at a time, although you still get a monitor of the program you are watching.
Finally, could do with a way of reducing the input list or editing out the unused options, As the list is far too long and in a few years the analogue tuner will not be an option.
All in all, we think a good buy.

Very Disappointing, 23 Jan 2008
Having read the previous reviews I decided to buy this TV from John Lewis in order to get the 5 year warranty. However the warranty will not be needed as it will be returned tomorrow.
The picture is fine if you're viewing the TV from the same level and directly in from of the screen, but if you're a tiny bit below the screen, it's too dark, viewed from above or just off to one side and the image becomes washed out.
The sound is pathetic. It's as weak and tiny as an old AM radio, with no bass to be heard, and no sound control other than volume and balance (do you really need balance on a set this small).
Do not even consider this set.

Excellent for the price and features, 13 Jan 2008
Just adding to what the previous reviewer said, since most was well covered there. Bought ours for the kitchen.
Plays just about any movie format I can throw at it: DivX, XviD, Nero Digital etc. In addition, mine was region-free out of the box, and supports PAL, NTSC and SECAM automatically (or selected).
Downside: Viewing angle (although good picture when it's correct) and 1-channel-at-a-time programme guide.
All-in-all: good value, and I don't regret it one bit.
