An absolute hoot! 11 Feb 2009
By Mags057
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am normally sceptical about reviews that state a book was 'a laugh a minute' but in this case it is so true. It isn't just for oldies either. I gave it to my 28 year old daughter and she loved it as well, particularly as she has recently attended several 'hen' celebrations and could relate to everything Jenny and Judith said. Sheer, unadulterated fun!

Absolutely hilarious, embarrassingly so - especially when you are on a very busy plane to Vienna and the bloke beside you thinks you're choking on your bread roll. I was rather alarmed at just how much of it rang true, thus confiming my status as being 50% of a fully fledged G.O.C. *sigh* I'm only 35.....

Poor 23 Oct 2010
Format:Paperback
I've never thrown a book in the bin before, but after reading this I had no option. Usually I sell them online to recoup some of the price and save storage space, but frankly I wouldn't wish this travesty of literature on anyone.

I think the proof readers must have felt the same way. This book is full of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. I am no proof reader, but these errors were so glaringly obvious I sometimes wonder if the women who wrote this know how to use a spell-check, let alone hire a proof reader. Beeline spelled "b-line", continual use of that awful abbreviation "Xmas" to the point where it just looks lazy. Who on earth calls Father Christmas "Father Xmas". Clearly only these two women.

The book is poorly written, there is no cohesiveness between paragraphs, the writers jump from one topic to another in the blink of an eye. It's all totally repetitive too. After hearing the same point of "men love sex, women love shoes" for the tenth time, you start to lose patience. You hear that rubbish every day and this book offers no different viewpoint. Men are lazy, women do all the work, let's be grumpy about that. Boring.

It's grossly biased towards the female side of the relationship and this becomes a real bore. Ideally it should have been written by one man and one woman; surely that would have made sense considering it's a book about couples? Evidently not.

To conclude, not worth wasting your time on. Very badly written, even more badly proof-read, repetitive and alarmingly unfunny. It gets 1 star for being reasonably short. Waste of money.
