My 10-year old stepdaughter started her first period while staying with us for the summer. I was worried about her comfort level with me in regards to the subject. I found this book in the local library and it was perfect. It is written in a straight-forward, but very comfortable manner. She read it front to back in about an hour, then she came to me and we looked through it together. It made conversation on the subject of puberty very easy. I learned things that nobody ever told me. I give it two THUMBS UP !!

I purchased this book for a friends little girl, who became a woman at a young age. We went through it together, and majority of it, was very helpful, but because of her age and our religion, there were a few things, that her mother was not impressed about. One was using a mirror to inspect your private parts. Not islamic, and this girl was too young, to even understand about that. Even though old enough physically, mentally she wasnt. She was in the age group for the book, I just think you need to understand the emotional age level of the child before you let them read this book.

The delivery was as expected, so no complaints about that.
I just wish I'd known (or realised) just how American the book was. I bought this for my 9 year old but there are a lot of things I don't necessarily agree with a lot of what has been written.
My daughter is not willing to discuss what she has read either.
